What is the advantage to hiring a company instead of a private caregiver?

There are a variety of advantages and disadvantages one ought to consider when making the decision between hiring an agency like us or a private caregiver. There are legal implications, safety challenges, lack of available backup and more…

Risks

1. Hiring a private caregiver makes you the care recipient an employer with all legal requirement, payroll tax obligations, insurance requirements and more. 
2. The private caregiver is not per definition checked and thoroughly vetted and trained prior to providing care, including in-person training by registered nurses.
3. Liability is a huge risk for you as care recipient. A private caregiver can hurt themselves at your house resulting in them suing you over it.

Advantages of hiring an agency

1. An employee of Complete Care at Home is fully covered under Complete Care at Home’s insurance.
2. Complete Care at Home is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured organization
3. Our Caregivers are personally interviewed, FBI-background checked and fingerprinted, and registered with the Home Care Services Bureau of California
4. Our caregivers are  overseen, guided, and supervised by our registered nurse Home Care Managers
5. Thoroughly vetted and trained prior to providing care, including in-person training by registered nurses at our state-of-the-art training facility and specialized training for dementia care
